World Physiotherapist Day

Physiotherapy is a profession that is highly demanded now in our fast developing nation. It is a profession that restores people functionalities due to accidents and sicknesses. It also deals with the livelihood of many people who suffers from pain and who had lived with pain their entire life. A profession that looks into the fault of our posture caused by our daily life activities/routines which bring about pain and discomforts, ultimately restrict our mobility and lead to further complications and diseases.

Recently gained recognition by our government and local authorities and physiotherapists stands autonomous leading to a highly respected and a skilled career. A career that can be diversified into other areas of treatment modalities which can curb non-communicable diseases, that is one of the number killer in Malaysia.

At Windfield Int’l. College, our physiotherapy module has the inclusion of sports sciences syllabus, preventive measures and wellness aspects have completed a physiotherapist into the other area of treatment modalities. Our collaboration with The National Association for Fitness Instructors has step our curriculum to the forefront compared to many syllabus over in Europe. Every one of our students upon graduating our Diploma will also be certified and carries a title called C.P.T. (Certified Personal Trainer) to their name.

This C.P.T. module has been designed by our local experts who hold and chair positions of Deans and Senior lecturers at our own local universities. This is to ensure our students will be taught and trained alongside with our own cultures and social values.

Entry requirement to our program requires student to pass in the S.P.M. examination with 3 credits (of any subjects) as our syllabus has been designed to be skilled based. We have designed our teaching methodology by correlating the subjects to practical hands-on for easy understanding for our students and is taught in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

To commemorate this day, our Year 1 students has played a role by presenting few posters on the conditions of injuries to their visiting parents, visitors and many sporting associations who are in need of physiotherapists’ expertise of treatment.

Papers were presented professionally over few areas:

Sports medicine

Neurology

Cardio respiratory and

Orthopedics

On this day, we have launched a special theme, ‘MOVING PHYSIOTHERAPY AS A CAREER’ which is a propaganda that our students to be a competent physiotherapist and promote this field professionally and to ensure that the public understands the roles and job scope of a physiotherapist.

 

Collaboration with the Hair Dressing Academy hosted by The Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.

In this program we have exposed our students to the practicality aspect of physiotherapy with an exchange of curriculum knowledge whereby, we teach them the techniques of Cervical Soft Tissue Manipulation (Massage) in exchange for free hair cut to our students.

The First Windfield Physiotherapy Symposium

We at Windfield School of Physiotherapy has commence the preparartion for hosting The Windfield Physioptherapy Symposium. In this program, all students will be grouped and to present their scientific papers orally or by poster presentation. This symposium will progressively be moved on to extend invitation to other schoold within the college to exchange views and knowledge amongst all Windfield students.
